about valiant minds education

Brain-based educational support for developmental trauma and FASD

Valiant Minds provides consultancy and practical support to schools, caregivers and young people who live with developmental trauma or Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), so that these learners can move beyond ‘surviving’ in school to succeeding there.

Trauma-responsive and FASD-aware teaching and learning both ‘begin with the brain.’

They require an approach which views behavioural responses and barriers to learning from a brain-based perspective. From this starting point come the strategies that lead to regulation, connection and eventually, to learning.
